This new design replaces the stock design pins. The standard design pins have a habit of seizing in the calipers and then becomes a nightmare to remove, which may even result in having to remove the caliper to work on it easier.
After removing the old pins run a 6mm drill through the existing holes on the front of the caliper to enable the pins to fit easily and fit the stainless R clips The hole appears smaller at the front for the taper on the pin on the inboard side it is a larger diameter so don't think you will weaken the caliper. This design is used on other aluminium calipers and are safe to use. The inbord hole is 6m dia and the existing pin dia is 6mm so there is no change in the diameter of the pin.Less rusting means the pads will move smoothly on the pins.
Next time you need to swap pads the job will be so much easier and the pins are re-useable so making this the cheapest option in the long term. Make these the last pins you buy!! Also look at the brake pad retaining plates in stainless steel and change these at the the same time.
Sold as a set of four, enough for two calipers.
These also fit the two pot AP calipers. (The retaining plates are different and won't fit the two pot calipers)
