Brake pad thrust plate and retaining screw for the AP Caliper as fitted to MGF Trophy 160 TF 160 and other models with AP Calipers.
The stock steel part corrodes and expands with the brake dust and can therefore cause the brake pads to bind in the caliper. This can lead to squeaky binding brakes and uneven braking.
To remove the old screw heat has to be applied to soften the locking adhesive. This can lead to the head of the screw becoming damaged and the screw can be difficult to remove. See my You tube video showing how to get them out by welding another hex screw to the head enabling a spanner to remove them quite easily. This usually has to be done by splitting the caliper so check out the M10 bolts we can supply to bolt the two halves back again.
