The MGF and TF hoods suffer from pinching when folding the hood down. I'm sure many people are aware of a small hole developing around the rear top corners of the hood fabric. These can be patched internally to prevent any water ingress but the best way to reduce damage is to have these anti-snagging pivot blocks and make sure the hood is folded down carefully.
A similar device was used by MG in the form of a plastic clip but this was fundamentally flawed as they either fell off or snapped!
How to fit:
My new design is fitted by firstly uncliping the hood at the header,this takes the tension out of the frame, removing the pivot screw (using a M4 allen key) and cup washer and replacing with a new aluminium CNC machined part which is retained to the hood frame pivot with the new M6 countersunk screw, thrust washer and lock nut supplied. If the screw does not screw in without force use a M6 tap to clean out the threads first.
Make sure the bronze washer is retained and a lubricating spray is used. Do not re-use the old cup washer or screw. Once fitted open and close the hood and re-tighten the screw. Should take no more than 15 minutes.

Price is for 2 hood pivots/1 pair per car.
A lot of hoods now have worn pivots and this can cause annoying rattles so at some time in the future I will look at replacement pivots as these individual hood components are not available.
