The spare wheel is held in place with a plastic headed screw , this usually seizes up or can be difficult to release..this is the last thing you need when you have to get the spare wheel out to use at the side of the road in the rain and at night!!
I've always disliked the standard design as they were difficult to grip and often get neglected as they should be greased occasionally to prevent them seizing.
This new MS design has a stainless steel threaded section and a CNC machined aluminium retainer 90 mm dia and a 50mm octagon that is similar in design as the wheel centre caps we manufacture so making them easier to grip and release.
These will also fit other cars such as the MGZR/ZS and Rover saloons.Please measure the length of threaded rod you will need we will supply a length of M8 316 stainless rod to suit for these applications some owners have space saver wheels or full size alloy wheel.
Note for the standard steel space saver you will be supplied a stainless steel threaded rod approx 100mm long this will be the same as the ones supplied for the ZR/ZS.Order this option.
