We have had a request to make a long sill repair section as sometimes the section in the middle can rust out due to a lot of TFs having blocked or ineffective drainage flutes. This usually means you may have to scrap the car as the O.E part is no longer available.
Now help is at hand with this new panel.
The section is 1200mm long so can be joined to the rear/front repair panels enabling an effective repair or cut in half and repair both sides that are corroded. Make sure you install some drainage holes after fiting.
NOTE these are a repair panel not a factory pressed part so will require some skill/trimming when fitting as the TF sill profile changes along the length.
The panels are made from 1.2mm Zintec steel which helps with keeping corrosion back and is thicker than the stock panel. These are far more effective than trying to patch weld it with off cuts of sheet metal.
I recommend that good rust treatment is used when the inner sill is exposed, a weld through primer and a good quality cavity wax such as Wurth is used after the painting stage.
Take precautions when welding Zinc coated panels and use a good quality mask filter, air fed if possible.
Note the price is for one sill section, you will require 2 per car if you want to weld both sides.
