This kit is for all cars with hydragas suspension 1995- early 2002. NOT TF models ..use TransFormer for these later srung cars.
Please note there may be some production differences to the photos.
This limited production run of 25 kits are now sold out so I have decided to make another 50 which will probably be the last that I will manufacture, these are all hand assembled and after over 520 kits sold I think I've worn my hands out! Plus that is a lot of revenue for the current Government to squander on adgendas we have no control of!!
NOTE for UK delivery costs this is approx £45 due to shipping surcharges for the 36Kg weight.!
.Allow 3-6 weeks from ordering. In a World of ever increasing prices I have managed to reduce the cost of this product by selecting the best prices from different sub-contractors. More work for me but the bottom line is a saving to the customer from over a year ago! The cost of shocks and springs have risen considerably as well.
.Price increase from GAZ March 2026 now added.
The turrets have a fixed shock mount and eliminates the aluminium adjustable top mount due to the cost of this part. Stainless steel, as the cost advantage of mild steel and then zinc plating is negligable and the enviromental impact is far less with stainless steel. I have been listening to Greta ;-)
The kit is made from stainless steel so is a hybrid of the MK9 and MK10 hence MK9.5
This is the only suspension kit that replaces ALL the old hydragas parts with NEW . You will have a brand new reliable suspension that require no pumping or faffing ever again. No special tools required to fit and a competant mechanic can fit this in a day..add extra time for geometry check and adjustment. The coil in a can systems are around £1600 and you will still have to pay for new knuckle joints and top arm bearings bringing the total to over £2000!
Remember that the old hydragas units ,some over 30 years old now, are sort after by people that want to be plagued by constant maintenance and fluid pumping and will offer crazy money for the used worn out hydragas units!! They often fetch £200-300 on Ebay! These crazy hobbiests are suffering from hydragasitis and the only cure is a FCCkit as prescribed by the MG doctor ;-).

If you think the MGF was designed to have hydragas then read this extract from MG Enthusiast magazine interview with Gerry McGovern "
Recent, Feb 2020, MG Enthusiast interview with Gerry McGovern OBE chief designer at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR)Now Ex JLR!, who was part of the original design team, says 'The hydragas was frustrating from a design perspective because it created so much variance in the vehicle's ride height which meant you saw a lot of MG's with a 4x4 stance..in hindsight things that should have been done differently.. bigger budget and...not using hydragas suspension ..'
So there you have it from the horse's mouth so to speak..the car was fundamentally flawed from a suspension point of view and would have probably had a conventional coil over set up if the budget was available. The MGF was not 'designed' to have hydragas it got it by default! Cars that were 'designed' to have hydragas/hydroelastic were the Allegro and the Metro as well as other Austin Rover cars of that bygone era of the '70's and it worked well for these cars but not a sportscar made in the '90's . Well, dreams can come true with the FCCKit!! You can now also upgrade your Metro Mk1 and MK2 front suspension with similar recently developed kits.
Please note these kits are fully developed with over 9 years in production (2017) and when compared to coil in a a can (CIAC) systems the
FCCkits replace
all the moving suspension parts (not ball joints) so you are not fitting new to old components. eg top arms, knuckle joints etc. The cost for a CIAC system is invariably more if you replace all the parts that are supplied in the
FCCKits and the loads are not transferred into the weak areas of the body shell but are supported by the subframe as the later MGTF system.Currently a CIAC system is £1056 plus vat int the UK and £1648 from a EU supplier.!! Neither are supplied with top arm bearings and pivots or new knuckle joints..this would push the prices beyond the price of a FCCKit!!
BTW despite claims by some retailers that sell re-gassed hydragas units as
'refurbished' it is not possible to refurbish the units fully. The internal valving corrodes and the rubber membrane that separates the nitrogen from the fluid also perishes and can fail without warning. A re-gassed unit has nitrogen recharged through a welded on valve and maybe the outer casing repainted to disguise any corrosion but doesn't address the internal corrosion especially the internal valving. The hydragas units had a limited service life span of approx 10 years and to stretch that further than designed makes them much more unreliable. Re-gassing them to full pressure will also shorten the life span. You wouldn't use a 25 year old tyre even if you put fresh air in and painted it with tyre black! As time goes on there will be less and less serviceable units, with springs and shocks they will always be available in any part of the World. You won't need to find a garage with a hydragas vacuum pump, fluid and with the expertise to change one! In any event the standard ride height as Mr McGovern states was far too high (factory height was 368mm) and this caused far too many issues. With a
FCCKit you can set the ride height from 330mm and also adjust the camber and damper settings allowing you to set the car to your requirements. When you take into account the number of components that are replaced it is good value for money compared to the alternatives.and you have a brand new reliable suspension !
