 2025 update! MGF gearbox bell crank now made in stainless steel  and improved shaft spigot CNC machined!! The best just got better!! This redesigned part is longer and also extended into the body of the crank (5mm) and TIG welded. What this does is give a larger contact area for the gearbox shaft, this gives better support and spreads any wear over a larger area.
  Note a price increase due to the rod ends increasing in price!
This replaces the stock item with my own design with new rod ends that make a considerable difference to the selection of the gears.
The part has two separate positions for the cable ends to enable accurate adjustment and to fit this new part requires the old one removing by punching out the roll pin and releasing the two cables.
This new design has rod ends that have a 10mm spanner flat to get the correct tension (17N/m) and the part is self-lubricating. These are available as a separate item at £8.00 each plus vat.
These are the best you can buy and are manufactured exclusively by ourselves since 1998 included is a new roll pin in stainless steel. Great value for money.

All MGF's have this design and it was changed for the TF production in 2002. If you have a MGTF then see the listing for that part of similar design
Note if you purchase the slick shift kit then there is no need to buy this separately as it is included in the slick shift kit.
I can't recommend this upgrade highly enough. My '98 Abingdon VVC (84K on the clock) was suffering the all-too common indecisive/crunching reverse gear selection and poor, sloppy gear selection in general. Having tried - and failed - to solve the issue with Internet auction site-sourced cable rod ends I purchased Mike’s s s/s bellcrank and cable rod ends. What a difference! Top quality items, the rod ends being far superior to those I’d tried previously. With the new bellcrank/rod ends in place and 15 minutes or so of fine adjustment to achieve all gears cleanly, my investment was rewarded with far more positive gear selection throughout the gate, with reverse being easy and crunch-free

Game changer!
